Coming Events

MARK YOUR CALENDAR

  • Our Advent Bible Study continues on Tuesday, at 6:30pm, we will be doing a 4 week Advent study using Max Lucado’s “Because of Bethlehem” study. Please join us. This will be a great way to prepare our hearts for the Christmas season. All are invited to join us for Bible strudy. Bring a friend!!

  • This year, the Youth Ministry would like to send our college students special notes from the congregation to    encourage them in their spiritual walk and finals  studies.  This Sunday (11/3) and next Sunday (11/10), we will pass around a sheet where you can write a special note to our college kids.  Feel free to include a special Bible verse or just a note of encouragement as they finish the fall semester.  We will then mail these to our college youth at the end of November before finals.  Look for the clipboard at church today.

  • Our church will be supplying gifts for area youth from the Presbyterian Children's Home again this year.  Next Sunday, Nov. 24, there will be an Angel Tree in the Narthex, from which you can choose a child to sponsor.  Attached to each child's name will be a short "Wish List" of items the child wants for Christmas. This year, clothing will not be included as additional gifts on the wish list.  We are asking that sponsors spend a minimum of $50 and a maximum of $75 on the sponsored child, whether that amount is invested in just one gift on the list or more than one gift on the list.

  • DOOR MONITOR- We need Door Monitors who are willing to monitor the Fellowship Hall door between the hours of 9:30 am- 10:30 am on Sunday mornings.  We have the following time slots available for someone to sign up for this important job: Sun., Nov. 24, Dec. 1 and 8, and Dec. 15 (you may sign up for single Sundays or for two consecutive Sundays).  The Monitor watches the unlocked door of the Fellowship Hall to make sure that no one enters the building who's not supposed to be there.  The monitor need not be a member of the Security Team.  Please sign up on the list on the hallway table in front of the office.  The Security Team appreciates the support of everyone in the church as we strive to keep our church members and building safe on Sunday mornings.  If you have any questions, please see Carlton White or Wanda Brewer.

  • Wednesday, 6:00pm

  • Sun., Nov. 17 at 4 pm at Wytheville Presbyterian Church.  Participants from area churches will present a concert of choral music, instrumentals, solos (including Pastor Natalie), readings, and reflections.  The concert is free and open to the public.

  • Please note that Joyce Bralley is our new church Communications/Publicity representative.  If you have a church event that needs to go to the media, please give her the information by calling her at (276) 613-8238 or emailing her at:    gtchr2021@yahoo.com

  • Visitation Team We would like to form a Visitation Team at our church, which would be responsible for visiting shut-ins and those who are unable to attend church for some time.

Nursing Home Ministry We would also like to form a ministry which coordinates visits to our area nursing homes. There is a dire need for companionship and fellowship among many patients in the nursing home, and we need volunteers who will go out to visit those in the nursing home a couple of times per month.

If you are interested in joining each of these projects, contact Pastor Natalie. You can email her at PastorNatalie@gmx.com

  • A new Griefshare Group has begun at Berea Christian Church, 996 Berea Road, Wytheville. Sessions will begin at 6pm each Thursday, with a light meal served. Please call Gary Housemen at (276)620-4604 for more information. Debbie Kinder and Fielden Sanders (West End) can provide information also.

If you need help finding Berea, Debbie or Fielden can help you.

  • Our RINGERS group began meeting last Wednesday from 4:15 to 5:15 pm. The group is open to ALL children in our area. There will be two groups, one for grades K-5 and another for middle schoolers grades 6-8. There will be a fun Bible lesson, activity, music and crafts. Parents and Grandparents, please consider bringing your kids/grandkids to this program on Wednesdays. It will be a fun way for them to learn about Jesus. If you need more information, please contact the church office.

  • Agape Food Donations

We are looking for canned meat (spaghetti sauce, revioli, etc) and canned veggies this month. The basket is available in the Narthex for food donations. PLEASE NO GLASS CONTAINERS

  • We need a couple more board members who are interested in promoting and working on Prom Project throughout the year. If you are interested, please see Pastor Natalie.
