  •  

    Fighter Verses-- We will continue the Fighter Verses Scripture Memory program this year.  Make sure to pick up a 2025 Bookmark which gives tips for Scripture memory and our verse for each week.  Memorizing Scripture is a great way to deepen your faith and grow in your discipleship in the new year.  

     

  • A brief meeting after 11 a.m. service to discuss hosting the Prom Project Event here at the church in March.

  • Tuesday, January 21--Our winter Bible Study will begin with an eight week study on Deborah: Unlikely Heroes and the Book of Judges.  The Bible study meets on Tuesday nights at 6:30 pm.  This study will last through Tues., March 11.  All are welcome to join us-- invite a friend!

  • Our church family is going to collect a Love Offering Basket for Vicky    Armbrister.  She has had to purchase a special wheel chair to aid her in her home. We will put a basket on the hallway bench or table for Vicky—anyone who wishes to help her financially can drop a card in the basket.  The basket will be there January 12th thru January 26th  so we can get it to her around the first of February.

     

  • Fundraiser Committee will meet at 2 p.m. weather permitting.  Members are: Judy Albert, Wanda Brewer, Peggy Duncan, Gale Lynn, Andrea Midkiff, Paula Simmerman, Linda White, and Linda Q.

  • Wednesday, January 22 - Choir Practice, 6 p.m.

  • Wednesday, January 22 --Our Ringers Youth Program will begin on Wednesdays from 4:15- 5:15 pm.  

  • West End is hosting a new GriefShare group.  Meetings start at 6 p.m. each Thursday, with a light meal served. Please contact Debbie Kinder (276-620-2882), Teresa Compton (276-227-1431), or Fielden Sanders (276-620-1112) for more information. Please help spread the word about this important ministry that has helped 10’s of thousands in their grief journey.

     

  • Baby Raya’s 1st birthday party on Saturday was postponed. The party has been rescheduled for Sat., Jan. 25 from 3 to 5 p.m. and all are invited to attend. Please see Carnegie Minor if you have any questions.

  • A group will be attending from West End.

  • February Coffee House, Feb. 1 , 5-6:30 p.m. sponsored by Men's Breakfast with Nicki Wright providing entertainment.  Menu will be “breakfast for supper”

  • Please note that Joyce Bralley is our new church Communications/Publicity representative.  If you have a church event that needs to go to the media, please give her the information by calling her at (276) 613-8238 or emailing her at:    gtchr2021@yahoo.com

  • Visitation Team We would like to form a Visitation Team at our church, which would be responsible for visiting shut-ins and those who are unable to attend church for some time.

    Nursing Home Ministry We would also like to form a ministry which coordinates visits to our area nursing homes. There is a dire need for companionship and fellowship among many patients in the nursing home, and we need volunteers who will go out to visit those in the nursing home a couple of times per month.

  • We need a couple more board members who are interested in promoting and working on Prom Project throughout the year. If you are interested, please see Pastor Natalie.

  • Contact Gay Hawkins, Sunshine Chair, at (276) 228-2333 if you know of a   member of the congregation who is ill or has experienced a recent family event.

     

  • Agape Food Donations

    We are looking for canned meat (spaghetti sauce, revioli, etc) and canned veggies this month. The basket is available in the Narthex for food donations. PLEASE NO GLASS CONTAINERS

  •  Winter Newsletters are available in the Narthex and hallway!

     Upper Rooms for January/February are available in the Narthex!
